There comes a time in the disease progression of some patients or an acute state when respiration fails and disease prognosis shrinks. At such moments, patient’s life is severely threatened if something is not done urgently.
In such situations therefore, every minute counts. The hospital has put in place a LIFE SUPPORT UNIT to come to the patient’s rescue at such a time as described.
As necessary, we take over the patient’s respiration by an external ventilator effectively supported by other machines such as automatic external defibrillators, rest ECG, monitors, oxygen source, sunction facility, etc.
The intensive care unit has redefined medical practice experience for us and for the patient, a reason to stay on rather than an undesired farewell, as it may please God
