PATIENT INFORMATION:
You will be given fluid directly into your veins via a plastic cannula to ensure you remain hydrated until normal bowel function has been confirmed by your doctor. This is usually 24hrs (although the exact length of time will depend upon your wellbeing). The numbness from the anaesthesia will take a few hours to wear off completely.
