After you deliver your newborn, the recommended stay in the hospital is 48-72 hours. If there were problems with your labour or delivery, or if you have other medical problems, you might be in the hospital longer.
WHAT TO EXPECT
- For the first 2-3 days after birth, your vaginal blood loss may be like a heavy flow period. Over the next week, this will gradually lessen and the color will change from red to brownish pink. Spotting can continue for 4-6 weeks…
